Titel: The Squares - Botanical Study #109
(September, 2022)

Description:
The idea of "Botanical Studies" began over a decade ago and was inspired by the timeless nature illustrations of Ernst Haeckel. Since 2017, I have been photographing botanical objects in this highly minimalist black-and-white style. This approach has been deeply influenced by the artistic sketches in Ernst Haeckel's "Art Forms in Nature" (1899-1904) and the impressive photographs by Karl Blossfeldt from the 1920s and 1930s.

The printing is done as a Fine Art print with pigment ink on Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta paper of gallery quality, ensuring that the finest details and contrasts are brilliantly represented. Museum board with a precise bevel cut, which aligns with the photo, is used as a matting. The frames are made of black oak wood with a 20mm thick profile, giving the images a modern elegance and sophistication. To provide special depth and brilliance in my prints while reducing reflections, I have chosen high-quality anti-reflective museum glass.
