Portfolio-Box 2023: "The Elegance of Water"
I am incredibly excited to introduce my portfolio box for 2023 and invite you to explore the captivating beauty of the simplicity of water. Building on the success of my portfolio box from last year, this year's offering delves deep into the world of minimalist art, with a special focus on the enchanting shapes and manifestations of water.

THE SQUARES
Botanical Studies Series Shows Beauty of 'Spiky, Round, and Edgy Things'
In mid-September, the time has come: I will present a new collection of limited edition fine art prints. This time, I have decided to release selected motifs from my long-term project 'Botanical Studies' as square prints in the sizes 30x30cm and 60x60cm.
ABSTRACTS & PATTERNS
For the year 2023, I will release a mini-collection once per quarter.
In doing so, I will personally handle the entire printing process and select the printing paper specifically tailored to the motifs. The photographs in this collection will be printed in the formats Din A4, Din A3, and Din A2, using Hahnemühle FineArt Pearl 285gsm paper.

Portfolio-Box 2022
Starting this year, I will release a limited edition portfolio box once a year. This year, I am dedicating the first edition to my long-term project on botanical studies, which includes 10 prints of my favorite motifs, and I will print it in an edition of 50 copies.
Maritime Studies
Inspired by the groundbreaking sketches by Ernst Haeckel from 'Art Forms in Nature' (1899-1904) and by the display boards that accompanied me during my school days in biology class, the idea arose to expand my project 'Botanical Studies' into other areas, where the respective motifs were deliberately implemented in a minimalist manner.
In the coming weeks, I will be creating a new collection featuring approximately 15 different motifs.

About Matthias
Nature and landscapes have always played a significant role in my life. I was born in the mid-1970s in a small town in Thuringia, on the edge of the Hainich National Park, in the heart of Germany, where I grew up with a strong connection to nature. Trips and vacations with my parents and grandparents often led us into the great outdoors. I discovered photography at a very young age, experimenting with the analog EXA and Praktika cameras that belonged to my parents and grandparents, which were manufactured in the former East Germany.
What started as a small hobby gradually evolved over the years into my profession and passion. My love for traveling also developed during my studies in business administration (BWL). My fascination with landscape photography was sparked by various stays abroad in Canada, Mexico, and the USA, with their diverse landscapes.
Nowadays, this type of photography also plays a crucial role in my professional life. In addition to workshops and photo tours, I often travel to Switzerland, Austria, and southern Germany to create work for commercial projects.
